Even with his shirt on, this guy is hot. Am I right?! Chase McKay has the soul of a poet, the law degree of the kind of guy you want to bring home to your parents, and the occasional man bun of a Brooklyn hipster who can teach you how to appreciate whiskey. Kayley absolutely loved being in this guy's head.
There’s something inherently optimistic about walking into a bar on a Friday night. It could be the beginning of a bad joke or the beginning of the rest of your life, but it’s always the start of something. No matter how many bad choices you’ve made in a bar in the past, the future always holds the possibility of better music, just the right number of drinks, and finding the one person who just might matter more to you than anyone else.
Aimee was so much fun to write.
Only two things are holding me back from climbing on top of Chase McKay and dry humping him in the back of this cab—the seatbelt, and a vague memory of the job I was hired to start tomorrow. But that’s it. My inherent need to be respected as a woman in the business world? Screw it! My sense of common decency? Gone! Lost it somewhere along Hamilton Avenue when those hands touched my face and I felt that soft full mouth on my mouth, and the hint of stubble around it tickling my skin.
He is the most sensual kisser I have ever had the pleasure of kissing, and I have never run my hands through such long hair while kissing someone before. I love it so much that for a split second I wonder if this means I’m a lesbian, and then I let one hand drop to his crotch and feel the magnificent rock-hard bulge in his jeans. Nope. I definitely like cock.
I definitely like Chase McKay.
Review: "IMO Kayley Loring is the gold standard in romance writers. She's really funny, but more than that, she paints pictures that make simple little love stories come to life. Her descriptions make you experience, not just read about what is happening, her characters are well understood but not just through words, the chemistry is undeniable, and any angst or conflict is short lived so that you don't feel tortured. Ms. Loring's subtle skill is so effective that it's not what you notice, you just embrace the story."- Fran

Maybe it’s a good thing if we only have tonight. I don’t know that my body could even handle much more of this. But then again - before tonight, was this body of mine ever truly alive?
The first time I saw Chase McKay at a bar, I thought I’d met the man of my dreams—I just didn’t recall the man of my dreams looking like the lead singer of a grunge band. Then, as soon his friend showed up, Chase bolted like I was his worst nightmare.
The second time I see him in a bar, I can tell by the look in his eyes that we both regretted his choice that first night. He has no idea that I’ll be showing up at his office tomorrow.
I don’t want to make things any more complicated than they already are, but I do want him like nobody’s business.
Tomorrow we’ll deal with the fact that Chase, his best friend and I will be working together.
Tonight, he’s mine.
